My Public Relations/Advertising internship at The HON Company has been more than an educational experience. It's been a true mentorship. I have a passion for my work at HON. This passion extends beyond the furniture industry, stimulating a pride not only for the products we produce, but for the work I personally do.

 

I work directly for the Vice President of Wood Casegoods at The HON Company, and it's an exciting place to be. I'm an integral member of HNI Interns the Laminate Casegoods Group, which is the market leader in its segment. The fiercely competitive and dynamic nature of the office furniture industry demands that you come out with new and improved products that appeal to changing customer needs. This innovative aspect of the business has allowed me to witness and participate in the launch of three major product series in the 14 months that I have worked here.

 

HNI has really helped me become engaged in their Lean culture, and has ultimately developed me into the engineer I am today.

 

I've had the opportunity to get some hands-on experience. I've seen the problem-solution implementation for a real-life business problem.

 

I've had an enriching learning experience since I joined HON as a Product Development intern. People at HON believe that every member has something unique and valuable to contribute. I'm fully involved in the different projects I've been assigned to, and I'm learning a lot. I would definitely recommend an internship at HON.
