CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Buildings magazine, a publication of Stamats Business Media, announced that a project containing products from The HON Company has been recognized for its project –10th and Chestnut Street in Philadelphia -- in the publication’s annual project awards competitions. A Project Innovations award was presented during the recent The Buildings Awards at The Office Building Show in New York, NY.
The HON Company, located in Muscatine, Iowa, is one of the leading manufacturers and designers of office furniture in the country. The project for which The HON Company supplied products received a Project Innovation Award in Buildings magazine’s 2007 award program. The October 2007 issue of Buildings and Buildings.com will spotlight this exemplary project.
“Last year, in response to our readers’ interests, we wanted to expand our coverage of projects beyond our ‘traditional’ awards programs, which focused on Buildings Interiors, Modernization, and New Construction,” said Linda Monroe, Buildings magazine editorial director. “As such, we developed our Project Innovations program to showcase some of North America’s most prestigious projects. This second annual program brought some of the brightest and best projects to our publication’s attention.”
More than 65 project innovations were submitted and reviewed by the preliminary judging committee that established criteria based on aesthetics, function, performance, and sustainability. Thirty-six (36) entries were selected for the prestigious Project Innovations distinction.
