Winding Creek Elementary School in Mechanicsburg, PA, was growing. They needed to renovate their classrooms and common areas to accommodate that growth. The upgrade needed to keep in mind their vision for the school, which was made up of 4 values: We Wonder. We Care. We Innovate. We Inspire.
From the beginning of the project, the school wanted spaces that encouraged innovation through collaboration and creativity. “We wanted the rooms, especially our common areas to inspire that feel,” said Chad Runkle, Principal at Winding Creek. “We wanted people to come in and say ‘wow!’”
The Cumberland Valley School District was thrilled with the overall offering throughout all of HON’s product categories. The wide range of finish selections also played an important role in the final decision-making process. HON worked closely with Tanner Furniture and the school to get products ordered accurately, on time and within budget.
Teachers at Winding Creek Elementary love the common spaces the most, and say they are frequently used and have driven collaboration among teachers and students.
