In today’s workspaces , fabrics and finishes aren’t just aesthetic choices—they shape how people feel, move, and collaborate throughout the day. At HON, we believe that every surface has a purpose, and that great design balances beauty with functionality. Our 2025 Colors, Materials, and Finishes P alettes reflect that belief, offering a fresh and flexible approach to materials that support the way work happens now.

This year at Chicago Design Week, HON revealed five new color palettes within the refreshed HON Workspace Chicago—a destination where ideas take shape, and where designers can explore the future of workspace materials.

Materials That Support People

Great spaces start with great materials. At the HON Workspace Chicago, designers can explore our palettes through interactive displays and curated resources, sparking ideas for how color, texture, and performance work together. At HON, we design our material collections with people in mind, focusing on what helps them concentrate, connect, and feel good in their environment.

The 2025 Palettes combine tactile surfaces, timeless textures, and versatile colors that are easy to mix and match. Whether you're setting up a lounge, a collaborative zone, or an individual workspace, these materials help create spaces that feel thoughtful, cohesive, and comfortable.

• Biophilic Neutrals: Soft greens, muted browns, and woodgrains that bring a sense of nature indoors.
• Sunset Inspired: Warm amber and gold hues that create a cozy, reflective energy.
• Pastel Revival: A nostalgic, lighthearted mix of modern pastels for open, flexible spaces.
• Renewed & Repurposed: Understated tones and tactile materials with a sustainable focus.
• Vibrant Urban Pop: Bold contrasts and saturated colors designed for dynamic, high-energy spaces.

Each palette includes coordinated paint finishes, laminates, panel fabrics, and seating textiles that work seamlessly together

Balancing Durability and Design

Great-looking materials only matter if they can handle daily use. HON’s finishes are selected for both performance and style. Seating textiles are tested for abrasion and cleanability. Paints and laminates are built to resist scratches, scuffs, and wear. Whether you’re designing a high-traffic classroom or a quiet team space, these palettes deliver long-term value without compromising aesthetics.

HON’s Customer’s Own Material (COM) program adds even more flexibility, giving access to a wide library of third-party textiles that meet HON’s performance standards, so designers can align with project needs without compromise.

Sustainable Materials, Purposely Chosen

More organizations are prioritizing sustainability in their workspace strategies, and HON’s material choices support those goals. Many of the 2025 palette fabrics include recycled content or are part of responsible manufacturing partnerships, like SEAQUAL® yarn made from upcycled marine litter.

Materials that Work as Hard as You Do

Selecting finishes shouldn’t be overwhelming. The 2025 Palettes are made to simplify the process, with pre-coordinated options that reduce friction and speed up decision-making. With a blend of timeless neutrals and bold statement tones, these palettes flex to fit your space, not the other way around. HON’s online Fabrics and Finishes library offers specifications, palette pairings, and performance details in one place, making it easy to turn inspiration into real-world solutions.

And through physical spaces like the HON Workspace Chicago, customers can see how materials support focus, collaboration, learning, and everything in between.
