Bringing Healthcare Innovation Together

For MJH Life Sciences®, a new headquarters represented more than bringing associates under one roof. It was an opportunity to create a workplace that reflected the organization's mission, strengthened collaboration, and supported continued growth.

As the leading healthcare engagement network, MJH Life Sciences delivers trusted health care news, education, and data-informed insights to over 7 million health care decision-makers across multiple channels. As the company expanded, so did the need for a headquarters that could unite multiple New Jersey offices and better support associates, welcome clients, and accommodate a growing content production operation. Working alongside architecture firm Mancini Duffy, dealer partner Innovative Commercial Interiors (ICI), and HON, MJH Life Sciences created a workplace designed around connection, flexibility, and the future. HON solutions throughout the space help bring that vision to life, giving associates a variety of settings designed for the way they work today while remaining adaptable as the organization grows.

A Workplace Built Around People

Unifying associates from several locations required more than simply combining office space. The new workplace needed to foster collaboration while providing associates with opportunities for focused work, private conversations, and informal connection throughout the day.

"We had multiple offices in New Jersey, and so we were consolidating into one headquarters," said Beth Buehler, COO of MJH Life Sciences. "We also needed a space that set us up for growth."

Through an extensive planning process, project stakeholders evaluated how departments worked, how teams collaborated, and what associates valued most from previous office environments. Those insights shaped a workplace organized into departmental neighborhoods, which create natural hubs where teams can work together while remaining closely connected to leadership and adjacent departments.

The design also prioritized natural light, wellness, and flexibility. Existing spaces were thoughtfully reconfigured to introduce inviting collaboration areas without sacrificing the quiet spaces associates rely on for focused work. Throughout the headquarters, associates can choose from a variety of settings that support everything from impromptu conversations to heads-down work.

One of the project's defining features is a dramatic multi-story atrium that transformed what had previously been separate tenant spaces into a unified workplace. Serving as both a welcoming first impression and a central gathering place, the atrium reinforces MJH Life Sciences' identity through branded elements, biophilic design, and the shared experiences that bring associates together.

One Complete Workplace Solution

Supporting such a diverse range of work required furniture that could adapt just as easily. Working with dealer partner Innovative Commercial Interiors, MJH Life Sciences furnished the headquarters with HON solutions that create a cohesive experience across open workstations, private offices, meeting rooms, lounges, and collaborative areas.

HON furnishings support the many ways associates use the headquarters throughout the day. Departmental neighborhoods encourage collaboration while a mix of meeting rooms, private offices, and phone booths gives associates places for confidential conversations and focused work. Personal lockers reinforce the organization's clean desk policy and hybrid work model, making it easy for associates to move throughout the workplace while keeping shared spaces organized.

The flexibility of HON's solutions also proved valuable as the project evolved. During planning, layouts were adjusted to accommodate additional growth while preserving the workplace strategy and maintaining budget objectives. Throughout the process, close collaboration between MJH Life Sciences, Mancini Duffy, Innovative Commercial Interiors, Watchdog PM Group, HON, and the broader project team helped navigate construction challenges and keep the project moving forward.

"The greatest value-add was communication and partnership between all the different groups," said Buehler. "There are just so many stakeholders involved in construction, and everybody worked together to get to the solution."

A Space That Continues to Deliver

Today, the workplace supports far more than day-to-day work.

Dedicated production studios empower MJH Life Sciences to create engaging content while welcoming clients and industry experts into an environment that reflects the company's unique position as the leading healthcare engagement network. Elsewhere throughout the workplace, associates gather for team meetings, company celebrations, wellness initiatives, and informal collaboration, while flexible meeting spaces support everything from quiet conversations to large-scale events. Leadership has also noticed a meaningful shift in how associates use the space. Collaboration happens more naturally, teams spend more time together, and associates take advantage of the variety of settings available throughout the building.

"I think people are really proud to bring healthcare experts and clients here now," Buehler said. "It's so clean and beautiful to walk around."

Rather than viewing the workplace as a finished project, MJH Life Sciences continues to refine the environment as teams settle into new routines, adding artwork, branding, and other elements that further personalize the workplace while preserving the flexibility built into its original design.

The result is more than a new headquarters. MJH Life Sciences created a workplace that strengthens collaboration, enhances the associate experience, and welcomes guests with confidence. With flexible HON furnishings woven throughout the space, the workplace is well positioned to adapt as the organization continues to grow.
