Teacher Appreciation Week Giveaway

Eligibility:

HON’s “Teacher Appreciation Week Giveaway” promotion is open to anyone with a valid Instagram account who is a U.S. resident or resides in a U.S. territory and is at least 18 years of age at the time the sweepstakes begins. HON’s “Teacher Appreciation Week Giveaway” (the “Sweepstakes”) is void outside the United States or where prohibited or restricted by law. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by HNI Workplace Furnishings LLC d/b/a HON (“Sponsor”). All employees, officers, directors and agents and their immediate families or any members of their households, regardless of relationship, of Sponsor or any advertising agency or other company involved with the design, production, execution or distribution of this Sweepstakes are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes or to win any prizes.

To be eligible to receive a prize, a nominated teacher must: (i) be a current, full-time or part-time teacher employed by an accredited K–12 school or institution of higher education in the United States or a U.S. territory; (ii) be a U.S. resident or reside in a U.S. territory; and (iii) be at least 18 years of age at the time the Sweepstakes begins. Sponsor reserves the right to request reasonable documentation to verify a nominee's status as a teacher.

Sponsor is promoting this Sweepstakes on Instagram, but Instagram is not an official sponsor of this promotion. This Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram. By entering, each participant and nominated teacher (upon acceptance of a prize) releases Instagram from any and all liability arising out of or in connection with this Sweepstakes. Any Sweepstakes entries received from an ineligible participant will be disqualified.

By participating in this Sweepstakes, participants accept and agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final on all matters. By accepting the prize, the winning teacher also agrees to be bound by these rules and the decisions of Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to modify the rules of the Sweepstakes in any way at any time, subject to state or federal law.

Sweepstakes Period:

The Sweepstakes begins on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. CT and ends on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CT (“Sweepstakes Period”). All entries must be received and recorded by the Sponsor during the Sweepstakes Period to be eligible. Sponsor has sole discretion at all times to disqualify entries into this Sweepstakes.

How To Enter:

To enter the Sweepstakes participants must: (1) follow Sponsor on Instagram at @honcompany, (2) like Sponsor’s Teacher Appreciation Week Giveaway post, and (3) tag one teacher in the comments of Sponsor’s post. The teacher who was mentioned in the comments will receive one (1) entry into the drawing. The teacher mentioned in the comments will receive an additional entry into the drawing if the participant shares Sponsor’s Giveaway post in the participant’s Instagram stories. If the participant’s Instagram account is private, participant must take a screenshot of the reshare of Sponsor’s Giveaway post and send the screenshot to Sponsor by direct message to @honcompany. Participants can only nominate one teacher for the Sweepstakes and can earn up to two (2) entries for the teacher into the Sweepstakes. Duplicate entries will be rejected for entry into the Sweepstakes.    

By nominating a teacher, the participant represents and warrants that the nominated teacher is a real person who meets the eligibility requirements set forth in these rules. The nominated teacher is not required to take any action to be entered into the Sweepstakes; however, the nominated teacher must affirmatively accept the prize and agree to these rules before any prize will be awarded.

Sponsor is not responsible for lost, misdirected, late, unsent, incomplete, illegible or unintelligible entries or for inaccurate entry information, whether caused by the participant or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the transmittal of any entry or the processing of any function on the participant’s computer system.  Participant must notify Sponsor of any changed contact information within the Sweepstakes Period to remain eligible to win based on entry information.  Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes; to be acting in violation of these rules; or to be acting with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.  Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or similar response methods will void all such entries submitted by such methods. 

Prizes:

The teacher who was mentioned in Sponsor’s comments by the winning participant will be awarded an Ignition 2.0 Task Chair in choice of spectrum mesh color for the seat and back. Model No. HIWMM.Y2.A.S.RM__.RM__.BL.SB.T. The total retail value of the chair is $1,059.00. Shipping and handling included. No transfer, assignment, cash redemption or substitution of any prize is permitted, except by Sponsor due to prize availability and then with a prize of equal or greater value.

Selection of Winner:

The winner will be randomly selected in a drawing among all eligible entries. The teacher who was mentioned in the Sponsor’s comments by the participant will be awarded the prize. Sponsor will verify the eligibility and teacher status of the nominated teacher prior to award of the prize. The chances of winning depend on the number of entries received.

The drawing will take place on Monday, May 11, 2026. Sponsor will notify both the participant and the winning teacher through direct message via their Instagram accounts (or, for mail-in entries, by email or telephone). The winner must respond within five (5) days of being notified or the prize may be forfeited and another Sweepstakes participant chosen. The winner must satisfactorily complete an affidavit of eligibility showing compliance with these Sweepstakes Rules, and must also sign a liability and publicity release, allowing Sponsor to use his or her name, likeness, and information for advertising or other purposes (except where prohibited by law). Failure to complete these forms within ten (10) days of receipt may result in forfeiture of the prizes. In the event that the potential winner is disqualified for any reason, the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner by random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries. 

Taxes:

The winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state or provincial, and local taxes and any expenses associated with any prize. Where the value of a prize is $600 or more, Sponsor is required to issue a Form 1099-MISC to the winner.  Sponsor will send the winner a W-9 which the winner must complete and return to Sponsor within ten (10) days of receipt and prior to the Sponsor delivering the prize. Failure to timely return a completed W-9 will result in forfeiture of the prize, and an alternative winner may be selected. Information required in the 1099 includes winner’s name, address, and tax id.

General Conditions:

The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, terminate, or suspend this Sweepstakes should viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt or impair the administration, security or fairness of the Sweepstakes.  The Sponsor is not responsible for any human or technological error that may occur in the processing of the Sweepstakes nor are they responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, communications line failure, theft or destruction of, unauthorized access to, delay in operation, transmission, or distribution of, or alteration of entries, whether caused by the sender, any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes, or otherwise.

Privacy:

By entering the Sweepstakes, each participant consents to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information (including Instagram username and any information provided in connection with entry) by Sponsor for the purpose of administering the Sweepstakes. The winner's personal information, including name, address, and tax identification number, will be collected for prize fulfillment and tax reporting purposes. Sponsor will use personal information collected in connection with this Sweepstakes in accordance with its privacy policy, available at Privacy Policy | HON Office Furniture. Sponsor will not sell or share participants' personal information with third parties for marketing purposes unrelated to the Sweepstakes.

Limitation of Liability and Dispute Resolution:

Except where prohibited by law, each participant and winner accepting a prize agrees that: (a) all issues and questions concerning these rules shall be governed by Iowa law without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law of any jurisdiction; (b) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be (i) resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (ii) filed only in the state or federal courts situated in Iowa, and participant hereby consents and submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such disputes, claims or causes of action; (c) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event shall include attorneys' fees; and (d) under no circumstances will any participant or winner be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. The foregoing limitations shall apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

State-Specific Disclosures:

This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Residents of states where this Sweepstakes cannot lawfully be offered are not eligible to participate.
