What does the knob under an office chair do?

The knob under an office chair can control several key adjustments depending on the model. On HON chairs, it is most often the tilt tension or side tilt tension knob, which controls the rate and ease of recline by adjusting how much resistance the chair provides when you lean back. In some chairs, a knob may also control seat height or work with the tilt lock mechanism to keep the chair in an upright position.

These adjustments let you customize comfort, posture, and movement to match your body and workstyle.

Refer to HON’s Chair functions page to view all the ways some HON chair models can be adjusted to fit your needs.
