Like many businesses, we’ve been faced with uncertainty in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our clients, customers, and partners were, too—and in many cases, they had to pivot on a dime.
It’s been nearly 10 months since our world changed, and we’ve learned valuable lessons along the way. It sounds cliché, but it’s true: navigating uncharted waters with our team has required a different approach to the status quo, but we believe we’re better for it.
While we all know that twiddling our fingers and shooting the breeze with nearby co-workers limits our productivity, not all of us are clued in to productive habits. If you’ve ever wondered how to get more out of the limited hours of your work day, here’s a few tips to get you on the right track!
Living in a business world can be challenging at times. An important thing to remember? There’s a time for business and there’s a time for fun. With the announcement of Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year, our recently updated 2018 Fabric Inspiration Guide, and the brand new fabric options HON introduced this month, it’s clear that we’re excited about color in the workplace this year!
HON knows learning doesn’t begin and end in the classroom. From the front office to the classroom – and every opportunity in between – we craft the products that inspire, engage and connect the ways in which students learn.
I started at The HON Company in June and have enjoyed working here the past few months. Who knew there was so much to learn about office furniture? As a new member of our Sales team, I had the opportunity to participate in an internal contest where I won my very own Desktop Riser – a new tool from HON that allows you to easily transform your standard seated-height desk into a standing desk.
The workplace has gone through many shifts over the years, with style, layout, design, and furniture having a lot to do with that. My name is Jared Roumfort and I am a 21-year-old college student at the University of Northern Iowa, currently interning in Marketing at The HON Company. While being here this summer, I have already learned a lot about the workplace and the different tendencies people have. Do you like to work independently in a private space? In an open floor plan with an interactive and engaging setting? Or maybe a mixture of both?
When you think of HON, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Maybe it’s our task seating. Maybe you know HON from the old days where our strongest suit was steel filing. Or, perhaps you are familiar with how we got started making recipe card boxes post World War II. If education furniture wasn’t something that popped into your head, you might be surprised to hear that HON has a very robust collection of learning solutions - a perfect example of our inspired practicality story.
The word “empower” symbolizes the authority to take control. The term incites feelings of strength, confidence and liberation.
What if I told you that you could have the power to do more with your workspace? That you could feel in control of your office surroundings and be confident that your personal work style will be supported? Meet Empower®, HON’s new benching system that connects the way people work by doing just that - empowering them to do more.
